Rainy season has started

Rainy season has started in Japan (Tokyo area). Japanese rainy season will continue from now June till the mid of July usually. Reader in this article would be not Japanese. So, please let me explain about Japanese rainy season briefly.

When you hear about rainy season, you might imagine that Japan is having heavy rain now. However, Japanese rainy season does not have heavy rain fall. Rather, the degree of rain is weak, but we have such weak rain continously every day. In this season, the weather in Japan is either rainy day or clouded day. It is always humid and so, we always have to take care not to grow mold on our food. Until mid of July, we would need to bring folding umbrella so that we can react sudden rain.
Thouch it may sound that rainy season always bring negative effects , rainy season is very important for Japanese agriculture. If we do not have certain amount of rainfall in this season, it would impact crop yields seriously. Though rainy day makes farmers difficult to work in fields, appropriate rain fall is really important for agriculture.

Meanwhile, apart from agriculture, there are various fun, even in this rainy season. One of seasonal tradition is Hydrangea which blooms in this rainy season.

If you visit at Japan in this rainy season, you can see Hydrangea everywhere. And in Japan, there are several places which is famous for having a lot of beautiful Hydrangea.
